What We Do

At The Resource Collective, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to work, socialise, and thrive as an equal part of their community. Our kaupapa is grounded in the belief that everyone has the right to contribute, to be seen, and to be heard.

We exist to immerse people with disabilities into the wider community, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for meaningful participation, employment, and self-expression. We proudly welcome people from across the Bay of Plenty, fostering connection and inclusion throughout our region.

Our Vision

Enriching the lives of people with disabilities – immersed into their local community.

Based in the Bay of Plenty, The Resource Collective empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities through vocational training, employment pathways, and social enterprise. Each year, we support up to 15 participants to gain practical skills for meaningful employment, while creating 10 volunteer opportunities that promote inclusion and celebrate the value of people with disabilities in our communities.

VOLUNTEER ROLE:

The purpose of this role is to help the Chrome Collective Charitable Trust in the Chrome Training Programme at the Corner of Wills & Tetley Road, Katikati Resource Recovery Centre.

TASKS MAY INCLUDE:

Assisting the Programme Co-ordinator with various tasks

Help and oversee work/sorting/painting/other

From time to time, we do outings and would sometimes require you to join

COMMITMENTS:

You agree you will work as a volunteer and will not be paid for your work.
You will tell us (the manager or co-ordinator) if you are unable to work on the agreed day and time. You will give us as much notice as you can.
We will provide you with induction, training, support, and feedback.
You will follow the instructions of the Volunteer Facilitator and raise any concerns with either them or their manager.
You will maintain confidentiality and will not tell any other person about information you find out through your work with us.
You will keep yourself and others safe and will follow our health and safety information and directions.

Either you or we can end this agreement at any time by giving 14 days’ notice to the other party that it will not continue.

Media Consent

Chrome Collective uses photographs to fund and advertise the Collective and what we do. At times, special media opportunities may arise (for example, a Newspaper Article). I consent to being photographed and/or recorded for inclusion on Chrome Collective Social media pages, Press releases and information kits, brochures, pamphlets, and other Chrome Collective-related documents.
